Issues affecting the twin-island state of Trinidad & Tobago.
Maybe the average Trinbagonian already thought we were headed in this direction – heads found in dumpsters, young men gunned down in cold blood on their way to school… We’re one headline away from becoming season two of Marvel’s Daredevil. And, with the advent of social media, it’s so much easier to find these traumatic images without journalists even leaving the newsroom. We’re all seeing it, all the time, whether we like it or not. But that’s precisely the problem…
Social justice is hard. It’s often thankless. Even worse, it’s work that we’re all doing in this country for free. But it’s meaningful work, that needs to be done if we want to live in Peace and harmony in a world that’s still inhabitable. That doesn’t always mean that we have to be on the exact same quest. It does mean, though, that all quests are valuable. They do more than give folks the experience to do greater, more impactful things. They help us get so much closer to ensuring that the end of the story that we’re all characters in ends in a victory for justice.
If the owners of Aria Lounge are to continue making money, they need to still have a product. And the major product isn’t alcohol, or ambiance, or whatever else a club might be able to provide. It’s the women that make the bar look attractive, and get men – considered the only real breadwinners – to come and spend money on twice the drinks and stay twice as long in the ambiance to buy twice as many more drinks. And, for the record, it’s not just any woman that attracts the men that ‘advertise’ at the club. It’s…the Lady.

You can’t be more disappointed in my finger than I am in my governance. If you think you are, not only are you wrong, you’re so woefully blind to the systemic breakdown our country has been going through since independence that my finger might be for you as well.
